Our Lab
What is the NPD lab?
We are a product development team located on the campus of Boise State University. We work with entrepreneurs, start-ups, and established companies from within a variety of industries on projects of all sizes.
What can the NPD lab do for you?
We specialize in concept development, design engineering, and prototyping solutions. For your prototyping needs, we offer on-demand 3D printing and RTV mold making services.
Our Stories
Idaho financial analyst, Jerry Scarrow had been in the process of taking the traditional French Butter Crock and innovating it into a an easy to
use, cube shaped product. In need of support regarding the product design and prototyping, Jerry Scarrow was directed to the NPD where his
visions were brought to life and refined. Once the design had been finalized, the product was on its way to manufacturing.
----------------
The NPD played a key role in the development for the Rekluse's automatic clutch for dirt bikes in 2002. With plenty of sketching, prototyping and
tesiting the NPD Lab had created a clutch revolutionary enough to replace the stock dutch pressure plate within standard motorcycles.
----------------
Brent Shores, a successful tournament fisherman had created the AccuCull, a new culling system that helps tournament anglers manage their live wells and cull their fish more accurately. The NPD improved upon this design throufh 3D models and was refined through SLA prototypes.
Once perfected, engineer drawings were drafted and ready for production.
